is gnawing at my vitals.
I only have one trip still on my schedule (well, that and a meeting in Montreal next Spring, but that's too far away to get me fired up): New York next month.
So naturally, it's time to start planning and dreaming (and wishin' and hopin').
L.C. sent us this link: Prairie Home Companion's 2007 Norwegian Cruise. I'm drooling at the thought of this one. Ten days leaving Copenhagen and cruising through the Norwegian Inside Passage and stopping in various cities along the way. Imagine taking this trip in July when the rest of the world is sweltering, and you are cruising through a fjord as deep as the majestic mountains surrounding it. Here is the itinerary.
Piquing my interest in this trip (aside from a chance to see various live shows and hobnob with the cast members and musicians (entertainment and note about the cruise from Garrison Keillor describes it in detail) is the fact that I'd try to meet my Norwegian blog-buddies Scholiast and Rarity in person.
The cruise leaves 7/23/2007. Tickets go on sale 11/16/06. As popular as P.H.C. is, I'd bet they'll sell out in a flash.
Which is a problem for me. I don't think I can decide to commit to this in four days.
But maybe there'll be some deep, late discounts as rare individuals who find they can't make the cruise at the last minute turn in their tickets. Well, you never know. Maybe they'll turn up as a fabulous bargain on Travelzoo, where you can find amazing deals like these:
-On certain dates, you can fly Spirit Airlines to certain American cities for $7!
-Cruise the Caribbean in an oceanview cabin for a week, starting at $175 per person! Or sail across the Atlantic for 12 or 13 nights for $599.
-Round-trip to Beijing including 5 nights in a hotel for $699, anyone?
-In the mood for some pampering? Maybe a 4-diamond hotel and spa in La Jolla for $139 a night is more your speed. No problem.
-Or Vancouver, five diamonds, $99 a night. OK, it's in mid-Winter, but still.
Well, enough daydreaming. I'm probably not taking any of these trips (though if Travelzoo and P.H.C. spheres intersect at some point, I may just have to throw a few things in a bag and run!). I know I'll have a few trips cropping up in 2007. You'll be the first to know.

You should come! I realize I'm one day late to persuade you to buy those tickets, but at least - if there are any last minute tickets later...
We'd be extraordinarily happy should you choose to come visiting :)
