Jan sent me this. I think it would be perfect for a Halloween Party. Or maybe any party. Read the recipe, then look at the picture of it at the bottom. Hmm. I have a couple of these cakes in the house and didn't even know it.
The recipe came from KidsKuisine.com.
CAKE:
1 box of spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package of white sandwich cookies
1 package of vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops of green food coloring
Several Tootsie Rolls or the equivalent
Serve in:
1 New (i.e. unused) litter box
1 New litter box liner
1 New Pooper Scooper
1) Prepare and bake the cake mixes according to directions in any sized pan. Prepare the pudding according to directions and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in a blender or food processor. Add a few drops of food coloring to one cup of cookies, and mix with a fork or shake in a jar, then set aside.
2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.
3) Unwrap three Tootsie Rolls and heat in microwave until soft and pliable. Shape the blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle the remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture. Scatter green crumbs lightly over the top.
4) Heat five more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them onto the top of the cake, and sprinkle them with crumbs from the litter box. Place the box on a sheet of newspaper and serve it with the scooper.
