Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary is almost 20 years old. They care for 25 exotic animals, mostly big cats like lions and tigers and cougars, as well as a host of others, horses, deer, pigs, domestic cats and dogs.
In the sad state of affairs, there has been so much human misery that animal sanctuaries have been receiving less in donations than they normally would have---and they're usually not flooded. Kay McElroy, Cedarhill's Executive Director wrote about other sanctuaries having to close their doors for lack of funding. I weep to think what will happen to the animals at those shelters. Cedarhill has weathered the storm thus far, but is constantly having to expand to give the animals the wonderful care and quality of life they get there.
Having said that, they are by no means ahead, and face similar issues month to month.
I ask you to look into your heart and see if you have something extra to give to this fine charity. Even if you have already donated elsewhere, see if you have an extra $10 you can give to help keep my favorite charity afloat during these hard times.
I appreciate it on a personal level, and know these well-loved and cared for animals do too.
