3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup walnuts coarsely chopped
1/2 cup fresh peppermint leaves chopped (or 2 tsp. peppermint extract)
Melt chocolate, butter, condensed milk over low heat. Stir in wallnuts and peppermint.
Pour into a 9 X 9 sqauare baking pan lined with foil. Place in the refrigerator until hard. Inver on a board and peel of foil. Cut with a sharp knife (heat blade under running water).
I love the combination of chocolate and mint. One of the best restoratives in cold weather is hot chocolate with a shot of peppermint schnapps added to it. Really good.
And, come to think of it, isn't it starting to get nippy out there?
Someone commented this morning that it was nippy outside. It was in the mid 70's. I guess nippy is in the eye of the beholder.
But you could probably rationalize trying the hot chocolate. Comes with my personal guarantee, as long as you make good hot chocolate.
