Today we have our bridge group's annual holiday party. Normally we play on the second saturday of every month, but in December we play early due to all the holiday party conflicts coming up. Sigh.
I will be taking a dessert--rum cake, and maybe making some spiked whipped cream to go with it. Nothing like gilding the lily.
A friend recently suggested I check out the Yahoo bridge site. Addictive. To get there, go to Yahoo, click on games, then card games, then bridge. Instructions are pretty simple. There are four categories: "social", "beginner", "intermediate" and "advanced". I am a social player. I am about as far from type A as possible ("Z"?), at least when it comes to bridge. The right brain-left brain quiz came about because I've been thinking about the fact that I love games and puzzles. I do all the puzzles in the paper, except the most inane, or those for children. Crosswords most of all. I love Sudoku. I enjoy card games, bridge with friends, pinochle with the 'rents, and pick up the rules quickly.
Mostly, I think I just love goofing off. Imagine my relief when I found out I am mid-brained, and type B+ rather than a pathetic, sociopathic loner.
And that, my friends, is that.
Should you happen to lose a key to your home you are probably best off changing the lock altogether.
