I love Reuters Oddly Enough News. Recap below. First a story forwarded from RR.
This had most of the state of Michigan laughing. The female news anchor will, in the future, likely think before she speaks. It is a true story.
It is what can happen when you predicted a snowfall for the night before that never materialized. She turned to the weatherman and said "So, Bob, where's that eight inches you promised me last night?"
'Nuff said.

Australian authorities have apologized to the family of a man who received a parking ticket while he lay dead in his car. The elderly man who was known to be seriously ill was missing for nine days before he was found in his car in a parking lot. On the windshield was a parking ticket written the day before he was found.
In Anchorage Alaska, a small airport has put in some new safety features. They installed an electric anti-moose mat around the airfield, in order to prevent collisions between the areas large moose population and the light planes that land at the airport. Moose can stand 6 feet tall, and weigh upwards of 1000 lb. Not to mention the antlers. Collisions were rough on the planes and pilots. Probably on the moose as well. Prior to installing the mat, airport workers had to go out on the field and shoo the animals off. They had become adept at getting through the airport's conventional fencing.
Two dozen sumo wrestlers weighing, in the aggregate, more than 8000 pounds stopped traffic yesterday as they crossed 7th Avenue in New York City, on the way to Madison Square Garden, where they will participate in a "Battle of the Giants" this Saturday.
"It is the perfect sport for me" said 6'7" German Torsten Scheibler who weighs in at 438.5 pounds. The heaviest sumo is 6'1" Hungarian Dezso Libor at 461 pounds.
Looks like the Europeans are weighing-in on this sport in a big way.
If you think you have what it takes, read the article here.
If you have what it takes but are too timid to wrestle, it'd still be a great Halloween costume.
